USAUS Military contracts for FY11

NAVY

Lock­heed Mar­tin Corp., Mis­sion Sys­tems and Sen­sors, Man­as­sas, Va., is being award­ed an $83,815,466 cost-plus-incen­tive-fee con­tract to design and man­u­fac­ture hard­ware for the Acoustic Rapid Com­mer­cial-Off-The-Shelf Inser­tion (A‑RCI) sys­tem improve­ment and inte­gra­tion pro­gram. The con­tract pro­vides fund­ing for the devel­op­ment and pro­duc­tion of the A‑RCI and com­mon acoustics pro­cess­ing for Tech­nol­o­gy Inser­tion 12 through Tech­nol­o­gy Inser­tion 14 for the U.S. sub­ma­rine fleet and for for­eign mil­i­tary sales. A‑RCI is a sonar sys­tem that inte­grates and improves towed array, hull array, sphere array, and oth­er ship sen­sor pro­cess­ing, through rapid inser­tion of com­mer­cial off the shelf-based hard­ware and soft­ware. This con­tract includes options which, if exer­cised, would bring the cumu­la­tive val­ue of this con­tract to $2,111,666,367. Work will be per­formed in Man­as­sas, Va. (95 per­cent), and Clear­wa­ter, Fla. (5 per­cent), and is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed by Octo­ber 2018. Con­tract funds in the amount of $2,024,032 will expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. This con­tract was com­pet­i­tive­ly pro­cured via the Fed­er­al Busi­ness Oppor­tu­ni­ties web­site, with one offer received. The Naval Sea Sys­tems Com­mand, Wash­ing­ton, D.C., is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (N00024-11-C-6294).

ARMY

DRS Tech­ni­cal Ser­vices, Inc., Hern­don, Va., was award­ed on Jan. 11 a $78,200,000 time-and-mate­ri­als con­tract. The award will pro­vide for spe­cial­ized engi­neer­ing and instal­la­tion sup­port ser­vices for the ongo­ing infor­ma­tion tech­nol­o­gy infra­struc­ture require­ments in sup­port of U.S. Forces — Iraq and Depart­ment of State users. Work will be per­formed in Iraq, with an esti­mat­ed com­ple­tion date of Jan. 19, 2012. One bid was solicit­ed with one bid received. The U.S. Army Rock Island Con­tract­ing Com­mand, Rock Island, Ill., is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (W52P1J-11-C-0007).

Bor­der Solu­tions, JV, El Paso, Texas, was award­ed on Jan. 11 a $34,000,000 shared-capac­i­ty, firm-fixed-price indef­i­nite-deliv­ery/in­def­i­nite-quan­ti­ty con­tract. The award will pro­vide for the stor­age, removal, repair, and dis­pos­al of asbestos, lead paint and mold from Fort Bliss, Texas. Work will be per­formed in Fort Bliss, Texas, with an esti­mat­ed com­ple­tion date of Jan. 10, 2016. Over 100 bids were solicit­ed with 12 bids received. The U.S. Army Mis­sion & Instal­la­tion Con­tract­ing Com­mand, Fort Bliss, Texas, is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (W911SG-11-D-0002).
