Upgradation of Flying Fleet of IAF

Mid-life upgra­da­tion of the fleet is a con­tin­u­ous process and is under­tak­en to retain the com­bat rel­e­vance of the aircraft. 

Con­tracts have been signed with M/s RAC MiG Rus­sia for upgrade of the MiG-29 air­craft, with M/s Spets Tech­no Export, Ukraine, for upgrade of the AN-32 air­craft and with M/s Thales, France, along with M/s HAL, India, for upgrade of the Mirage 2000 air­craft. These con­tracts are under implementation. 

Capa­bil­i­ty build­ing as per the Long Term Plan of the Indi­an Air Force is being under­tak­en to meet the emerg­ing secu­ri­ty chal­lenges. The capa­bil­i­ty build­ing involves both upgra­da­tion of exist­ing sys­tems and plat­forms as well as induc­tion of state of the art mod­ern equipment.
