Defence community to meet and discuss requirements of Asian army modernisation

Clar­i­on Events hosts the regions’ first com­pre­hen­sive army cen­tric con­fer­ence and exhi­bi­tion, bring­ing togeth­er senior army and indus­try per­son­nel to dis­cuss force mod­erni­sa­tion trends in the region

Sin­ga­pore, 21 Mar 2011 – Clar­i­on Events is host­ing Future Land Forces 2011 on 27, 28, 29 June 2011 at the Sin­ga­pore EXPO, Sin­ga­pore. The event brings togeth­er the land force com­mu­ni­ty in Asia, and fea­tures top region­al mil­i­tary speak­ers who will be address­ing the lat­est require­ments for Asian armies.

Accord­ing to John Geen­ty, Direc­tor, Glob­al Defence Con­fer­ences at Clar­i­on Events “defence bud­gets are ris­ing and mod­erni­sa­tion options are broad­en­ing in the Asian mar­ket, we see that land forces in this region are tak­ing the lead in the pro­cure­ment of mech­a­nised ground forces, ISR capa­bil­i­ties and sup­port fire plat­forms. Yet there has­n’t been an event of qual­i­ty and scale based around a well researched agen­da for the Asian land mar­ket. Future Land Forces is the only event of its type and we’re delight­ed to be able to pro­vide this forum for the Asian land sector.” 

The con­fer­ence will cov­er how region­al armies are opti­mis­ing their increased bud­gets in the acqui­si­tion and upgrad­ing of infantry, armour, artillery and unmanned plat­forms and tech­nolo­gies. Atten­dees will also learn and com­pare oper­a­tional capa­bil­i­ties from expe­ri­enced nations to assist them in the deci­sion mak­ing process for when they pre­pare their army’s future capa­bil­i­ty roadmap. 

Future Land Forces 2011 fea­tures High-lev­el offi­cials from Asian armies and Min­istries of Defence. High­lights include: 

• Lieu­tenant Gen­er­al Jagath Jaya­suriya the Chief of the SRI LANKA ARMY 
• Brigadier Gen­er­al Agus Suyarso, Direc­tor of Tech­nol­o­gy and Indus­try in the Indone­sian Min­istry of Defence 
• Colonel Feli­cisi­mo Bod­i­on­gan the Chief of Staff of the Light Armour Divi­sion of the Philip­pine Army
