WASHINGTON, Aug. 3, 2010 — Iraqi security forces arrested 11 terrorism suspects in operations around Iraq yesterday, military officials reported.
In Baqouba, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors pursuing a suspected al-Qaida in Iraq member who allegedly is involved in assassinations, kidnappings, insurgent financing, and mortar and bomb attacks arrested eight suspected criminal associates of the wanted man.
Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors in Baghdad arrested two suspected criminal associates while looking for an al-Qaida in Iraq member allegedly responsible for extortion operations and attacks on coalition forces.
Near Khalis, Iraqi forces working with U.S. advisors arrested a suspected member of the Promised Day Brigade terrorist group who allegedly is responsible for rocket attacks on coalition forces and the facilitation of weapons into Iraq.
