ECCO Offset Symposium in Brussels

The Euro­pean Club for Coun­ter­trade & Off­set (ECCO) will be host­ing a Sym­po­sium on 14 and 15 Decem­ber in Brus­sels , Bel­gium .

14 Decem­ber from 14:00 to 18.00: Forum on Off­sets with­in the Euro­pean Union – Enforce­ment of Direc­tive 2009/81/EC and Arti­cle 346 of the Lis­bon Treaty 

Reg­is­tra­tion will be open at 13.30.

The fol­low­ing top­ics are includ­ed in the agenda: 

- Euro­pean Cen­tre for Law and eco­nom­ics pre­sen­ta­tion on the new Euro­pean environment. 

•  Euro­pean Com­mis­sion pre­sen­ta­tion on the trans­po­si­tion of Direc­tive 2009/81/EC with­in the EU. 

•  Dis­cus­sions on the imple­men­ta­tion of the 2009/81/EC direc­tive in var­i­ous EU Mem­ber States Fin­land, France , Poland , ect, and on how they will apply Arti­cle 346 TFEU. Var­i­ous off­set and gov­ern­men­tal author­i­ty rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the EU will take part. 

The after­noon will be con­clud­ed by a 60-minute round­table dis­cus­sion (Q&A), includ­ing the speakers . 

15 Decem­ber from 09:00 to 16:00 : Work­shop on Best Off­set Practices 

Reg­is­tra­tion will be open from 08:00 to 09:00. The agen­da includes: 

•  Rep­re­sen­ta­tives from non-EU Off­set author­i­ties, includ­ing Malaysia , Emi­rates, will present the fun­da­men­tals rea­sons why their respec­tive coun­try chose to imple­ment an Off­set policy; 

•  Two Off­set oblig­ors, Thales Inter­na­tion­al Off­set and Gen­er­al Dynam­ics Euro­pean Land Sys­tems, will present their best prac­tices on Off­set, intro­duc­ing the impact of Off­set on their com­pa­nies, the way they address their Off­set oblig­a­tions, and a case study on the man­age­ment of an Off­set oblig­a­tion in a giv­en country. 

The after­noon will include a round­table dis­cus­sion with speak­ers to fur­ther unrav­el top­ics raised dur­ing the presentations. 

ECCO will make nec­es­sary arrange­ment to organ­ise lunch­es at the venue and dur­ing the event. Atten­dants can either have lunch at the venue upon pre­vi­ous reg­is­tra­tion and pay­ment or on their own. 

ECCO will also organ­ise a Gala din­ner to be held on 14 Decem­ber, start­ing at 19:00 sub­ject to pre­lim­i­nary pay­ment for attendees.
