AIR FORCE

Boe­ing Co., St. Louis, Mo., was award­ed a $106,354,379 con­tract mod­i­fi­ca­tion which pro­vides for the exer­cise of the Lot 7 option for small diam­e­ter bomb pro­duc­tion for muni­tions, car­riages and tech­ni­cal sup­port. At this time, the entire amount has been oblig­at­ed. AAC/EBMK, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (FA8672-11-C-0034).

Northrop Grum­man Space and Mis­sions Sys­tems Corp., San Jose, Calif., was award­ed a $23,646,636 con­tract which will pro­vide for the design and build of a pod mount­ed pro­to­type for the MQ‑9 plat­form. At this time, $17,106,465 has been oblig­at­ed. ASC/WINK, Wright-Pat­ter­son Air Force Base, Ohio, is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (FA8620-08-C-3004).

Gulf­stream Aero­space Corp., Savan­nah, Ga., was award­ed a $10,244,405 con­tract mod­i­fi­ca­tion which will pro­vide for con­tin­ued fleet main­te­nance sup­port on nine Gulf­steam air­craft owned by the Egypt­ian gov­ern­ment. At this time, $5,732,615 has been oblig­at­ed. OC-ALC,GKSKB, Tin­ker Air Force Base, Okla., is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (FA8106-08-C-0001).

Northrop Grum­man Space and Mis­sions Sys­tems Corp., San Jose, Calif., was award­ed a con­tract mod­i­fi­ca­tion which will pro­vide for a pro­to­type sen­sor for the MQ‑9 installed in a pod to sup­port a lim­it­ed flight demon­stra­tion of the ASIP‑2 func­tion­al­ly. The con­trac­tor shall sup­port the Gen­er­al Atom­ics effort to cer­ti­fy the pod for air wor­thi­ness on the MQ‑9. At this time, $5,433,892 has been oblig­at­ed. Gen­er­al Dynam­ics Elec­tric Boat Corp., Gro­ton, Conn., is being award­ed a $35,924,253 cost-plus-fixed fee con­tract for engi­neer­ing and tech­ni­cal design ser­vices to sup­port research and devel­op­ment of advanced sub­ma­rine tech­nolo­gies for cur­rent and future sub­ma­rine plat­forms. Work will be per­formed in Gro­ton, Conn. (75 per­cent), and New­port News, Va. (25 per­cent), and is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed by Octo­ber 2011. Con­tract funds will expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. This con­tract was not com­pet­i­tive­ly pro­cured. The Naval Sea Sys­tems Com­mand, Wash­ing­ton, D.C., is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (N00024-11-C-2109).

BAE Sys­tems Tac­ti­cal Vehi­cle, LP, Sealy, Texas, is being award­ed $25,634,704 for firm-fixed-priced deliv­ery order #0009, mod­i­fi­ca­tion #02, under pre­vi­ous­ly award­ed con­tract (M67854-07-D-5030) for the pro­cure­ment of the fol­low­ing sus­tain­ment parts: Caiman Mul­ti-The­ater Vehi­cles (CMTV) depro­cess­ing kit; CMTV autho­rized stock­age list; CMTV pre­scribed load list; and CMTV bat­tle dam­age assess­ment repair, which sup­ports the 1,700 CMTV chas­sis upgrades. Work will be per­formed in the con­ti­nen­tal Unit­ed States, and is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed Decem­ber 2011. Con­tract funds in the amount of $25,634,704 will expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. Marine Corps Sys­tems Com­mand, Quan­ti­co, Va., is the con­tract­ing activity. 

L‑3 Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Ver­tex Aero­space, LLC, Madi­son, Miss., is being award­ed a $23,798,929 mod­i­fi­ca­tion to a pre­vi­ous­ly award­ed firm-fixed-price con­tract (N00019-09-D-0007) to exer­cise an option for orga­ni­za­tion­al, select­ed inter­me­di­ate and lim­it­ed depot-lev­el main­te­nance for F‑16, F‑18, H‑60, and E‑2C air­craft oper­at­ed by the adver­sary squadrons based at Naval Air Sta­tion, Fal­lon, Nev. Work will be per­formed in Fal­lon, Nev., and is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed in Octo­ber 2011. Con­tract funds in the amount of $23,798,929 will expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. The Naval Air Sys­tems Com­mand, Patux­ent Riv­er, Md., is the con­tract­ing activity. 

L‑3 Ser­vices, Inc., Mount Lau­rel, N.J., is being award­ed a $17,452,177 cost-plus-fixed-fee con­tract for crit­i­cal engi­neer­ing and tech­ni­cal ser­vices in sup­port of the Naval Air War­fare Cen­ter Air­craft Division’s Spe­cial Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Require­ments Divi­sion. Ser­vices will sup­port lega­cy, cur­rent and next gen­er­a­tion telecom­mu­ni­ca­tion and relat­ed C‑E sys­tem require­ments for var­i­ous Navy, Army, Air Force, spe­cial oper­a­tions forces, and oth­er agen­cies. Work will be per­formed at St. Ini­goes, Md. (40 per­cent); var­i­ous loca­tions out­side the con­ti­nen­tal Unit­ed States (30 per­cent); var­i­ous loca­tions in the con­ti­nen­tal Unit­ed States (20 per­cent); and Lex­ing­ton Park, Md. (10 per­cent). Work is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed in Octo­ber 2011. Con­tract funds will not expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. This con­tract was not com­pet­i­tive­ly pro­cured. Raytheon Inte­grat­ed Defense Sys­tems, Tewks­bury, Mass., is being award­ed a $10,314,427 mod­i­fi­ca­tion to pre­vi­ous­ly award­ed con­tract (N00024-05-C-5346) to exer­cise an option for the next phase of pro­duc­tion design ver­i­fi­ca­tion for the Zumwalt (DDG 1000) class destroy­er pro­gram. Work will be per­formed in Tewks­bury, Mass. (42.3 per­cent); Moorestown, N.J. (36.6 per­cent); Portsmouth, R.I. (14.2 per­cent); Lees­burg, Va. (2.7 per­cent); Sud­bury, Mass. (2.4 per­cent); San Diego, Calif. (1.1 per­cent); and Min­neapo­lis, Minn. (0.7 per­cent). Work is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed by March 2012. John Bean Tech­nolo­gies Corp., Ogden, Utah, is being award­ed a $7,177,992 mod­i­fi­ca­tion to a pre­vi­ous­ly award­ed firm-fixed-priced con­tract (N68335-07-C-0459) to exer­cise an option for 40 land­based air con­di­tion­er pro­duc­tion units in sup­port of the C‑130, C‑40, C‑9, P‑8, and P‑3 air­craft. In addi­tion, this option pro­vides for the pro­cure­ment of 80 upgrade kits. The land­based air con­di­tion­ers will sup­ply con­di­tioned air to air­craft equip­ment and avion­ics com­part­ments dur­ing ground main­te­nance. Work will be per­formed in Ogden, Utah, and is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed in Feb­ru­ary 2014. Con­tract funds will not expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. The Naval Air War­fare Cen­ter Air­craft Divi­sion, Lake­hurst, N.J., is the con­tract­ing activity. 

ARMY

Gen­er­al Dynam­ics Infor­ma­tion Tech­nol­o­gy, Fair­fax, Va., was award­ed on Oct. 25 a $17,000,005 firm-fixed-price con­tract. This con­tract is for the Com­bined Secu­ri­ty Tran­si­tion Com­mand Afghanistan staff aug­men­ta­tion ser­vices for inter­nal direc­torates. Work is to be per­formed in Kab­ul, Afghanistan, with an esti­mat­ed com­ple­tion date of Oct. 24, 2012. Bids were solicit­ed on the World Wide Web with five bids received. CENTCOM Con­tract­ing Com­mand — Kab­ul Region­al Con­tract­ing Cen­ter, Kab­ul, Afghanistan, is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (W91B4M-11-C-4001).

Creek Ser­vices, LLC., Gret­na, La., was award­ed on Oct. 26 a $11,170,830 firm-fixed-price con­tract. The work con­sists of con­struct­ing L‑wall (i.e., I‑wall con­ver­sion), clear­ing and grub­bing , soil mix­ing, installing sluice gates on exist­ing pump facil­i­ty, place­ment of com­pact­ed fill, fer­til­iz­ing, seed­ing and mulching, main­te­nance of access roads, and all oth­er inci­den­tal work there­to. Work is to be per­formed in Jef­fer­son Parish, La., with an esti­mat­ed com­ple­tion date of Nov. 16, 2011. Eleven bids were solicit­ed with sev­en bids received. U.S. Army Corps of Engi­neers, New Orleans Dis­trict, New Orleans, La., is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (W912P8-09-D-0045).

Carothers Con­struc­tion, Inc., Water Val­ley, Miss., was award­ed on Oct. 27 an $11,381,200 firm-fixed-price con­tract. Project 65554B involves the con­struc­tion of approx­i­mate­ly six miles of asphalt road­way; 5.5 miles of grav­el road­way; one HL-93 bridge (120 mil­i­tary load class) approx­i­mate­ly 200 feet in length; and approx­i­mate­ly six miles of bound­ary fenc­ing. Project requires ero­sion and sed­i­men­ta­tion con­trol mea­sures to be in place through­out con­struc­tion. Road­ways will require but are not lim­it­ed to cut, fill, the instal­la­tion of cul­verts, box cul­verts, ditch­es, tem­po­rary bypass routes; sup­port­ing facil­i­ties include clear­ing and grub­bing, fine and rough grad­ing, ero­sion con­trol sys­tems, grass­ing, storm drainage, guard rails, fenc­ing and gates, and util­i­ty pro­tec­tion. Work is to be per­formed in Fort Ben­ning, Ga., with an esti­mat­ed com­ple­tion date of Sept. 11, 2011. Sev­en bids were solicit­ed with three bids received. U.S. Army Engi­neer Dis­trict, Savan­nah, Ga., is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (W91278-07-D-0026).
