USAUS Military contracts for FY10-101007

NAVY

Gen­er­al Dynam­ics Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, is being award­ed a $27,056,613 cost-plus-fixed fee mod­i­fi­ca­tion to pre­vi­ous­ly award­ed con­tract (N00024-06-C-2303) to exer­cise an option for addi­tion­al class ser­vices asso­ci­at­ed with the detail design and con­struc­tion of the DDG 1000 Zumwalt class destroy­er. This work will pro­vide tech­ni­cal and indus­tri­al engi­neer­ing in the inter­pre­ta­tion and appli­ca­tion of the detailed design to sup­port con­struc­tion and the main­te­nance of the ship design. Work will be per­formed in Bath, Maine, and is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed by Decem­ber 2010. Con­tract funds will not expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. The Naval Sea Sys­tems Com­mand, Wash­ing­ton, D.C., is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty.

Lock­heed Mar­tin Corp., Lock­heed Mar­tin Aero­nau­tics Co., Ft. Worth, Texas, is being award­ed a $13,035,539 mod­i­fi­ca­tion to a pre­vi­ous­ly award­ed cost-plus-award-fee con­tract (N00019-02-C-3002) to incor­po­rate the ship­borne rolling ver­ti­cal land­ing capa­bil­i­ty into the F‑35 Joint Strike Fight­er for the Unit­ed King­dom. Work will be per­formed at Fort Worth, Texas (54 per­cent); Warton, Unit­ed King­dom (35 per­cent); El Segun­do, Calif. (7 per­cent); and Orlan­do, Fla. (4 per­cent). Work is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed in Octo­ber 2013. Con­tract funds will not expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. The Naval Air Sys­tems Com­mand, Patux­ent Riv­er, Md., is the con­tract­ing activity. 

Rock­well Collins, Inc., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is being award­ed an $11,655,079 firm-fixed-price deliv­ery order against a pre­vi­ous­ly issued basic order­ing agree­ment (N00421-06-G-0006) for ser­vices in sup­port of the VH-60N pres­i­den­tial heli­copter cock­pit upgrade pro­gram. Ser­vices to be pro­vid­ed include incor­po­ra­tion of updat­ed nav­i­ga­tion per­for­mance area nav­i­ga­tion soft­ware; ter­rain aware­ness warn­ing sys­tem soft­ware; Mode 5 Lev­el 2 soft­ware; and inte­gra­tion of updat­ed cryp­to­graph­ic hard­ware func­tion­al­i­ty. Work will be per­formed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed in May 2013. Con­tract funds will not expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. The Naval Air War­fare Cen­ter Air­craft Divi­sion, Patux­ent Riv­er, Md., is the con­tract­ing activity. 

Colonna’s Ship­yard, Inc., Nor­folk, Va., is being award­ed a $6,685,899 firm-fixed-price con­tract for a 100 cal­en­dar day reg­u­lar over­haul of Mil­i­tary Sealift Command’s cable laying/repair ship USNS Zeus. The ship’s pri­ma­ry mis­sion is to install and repair under­sea cable sys­tems. This reg­u­lar over­haul will include dry-dock­ing and undock­ing the ship; work on the main propul­sion motors; trans­duc­er and sonar equip­ment instal­la­tion; under­wa­ter hull preser­va­tion; and propul­sion shaft removal and inspec­tion. The con­tract includes options which, if exer­cised, would bring the cumu­la­tive val­ue of this con­tract to $9,362,355. Work will be per­formed in Nor­folk, Va., and is expect­ed to be com­plet­ed by Feb­ru­ary 2011. Con­tract funds will not expire at the end of the cur­rent fis­cal year. This con­tract was com­pet­i­tive­ly pro­cured and post­ed to the Fed­er­al Busi­ness Oppor­tu­ni­ties web­site, with four offers received. The U.S. Navy’s Mil­i­tary Sealift Fleet Sup­port Com­mand, a field activ­i­ty of Mil­i­tary Sealift Com­mand, is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (N40442-11-C-5000).

DEFENSE LOGISTICS AGENCY

Space­labs Med­ical, Inc., Issaquah, Wash., is being award­ed a max­i­mum $13,460,681 fixed-price with eco­nom­ic price adjust­ment con­tract for patient mon­i­tor­ing sys­tems, sub­sys­tems, acces­sories, con­sum­ables, and train­ing. There are no oth­er loca­tions of per­for­mance. Using ser­vices are Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and fed­er­al civil­ian agen­cies. There were orig­i­nal­ly 17 pro­pos­als solicit­ed with nine respons­es. The date of per­for­mance com­ple­tion is Oct. 7, 2011. The Defense Logis­tics Agency Troop Sup­port, Philadel­phia, Pa., is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (SPM2D1-09-D-8351). AIR FORCE 

The Boe­ing Co., Wichi­ta, Kan., was award­ed a $12,375,297 con­tract mod­i­fi­ca­tion for a future beyond line of sight (BLOS) com­mu­ni­ca­tion capa­bil­i­ty with the advanced extreme­ly high fre­quen­cy fam­i­ly of advanced BLOS ter­mi­nals on the B‑52. At this time, $10,011,418 has been oblig­at­ed. ASC/WWVK, Wright Pat­ter­son Air Force Base, Ohio, is the con­tract­ing activ­i­ty (FA8107-05-C-0001; PO0058).
