Irak — Iraqi Forces Arrest 3 Terrorism Suspects

WASHINGTON, July 1, 2010 — Iraqi secu­ri­ty forces work­ing with U.S. advi­sors arrest­ed three ter­ror­ism sus­pects in recent oper­a­tions in Iraq, mil­i­tary offi­cials report­ed.

South­west of Kirkuk today, Iraqi forces arrest­ed a sus­pect­ed al-Qai­da in Iraq mem­ber believed to be in charge of facil­i­tat­ing the move­ment, pro­cure­ment, and con­struc­tion of vehi­cles for use as vehi­cle-borne bombs.

Iraqi forces arrest­ed two sus­pect­ed al-Qai­da in Iraq crim­i­nal asso­ciates yes­ter­day in south­west­ern Bagh­dad. They alleged­ly are involved with an al-Qai­da in Iraq mem­ber respon­si­ble for in facil­i­ta­tion of road­side-bomb attacks.
