Irak — Iraqi Forces Arrest 11 Terrorism Suspects

WASHINGTON, April 27, 2010 — Iraqi forces work­ing with U.S. advi­sors arrest­ed 11 ter­ror­ism sus­pects in com­bined oper­a­tions yes­ter­day and today in Iraq, mil­i­tary offi­cials report­ed.

A sus­pect­ed al-Qai­da in Iraq leader who is sus­pect­ed of being involved in assas­si­na­tions and bank rob­beries in the Man­sour area was arrest­ed today west of Bagh­dad, along with a sus­pect­ed asso­ciate.

In Bagh­dad and Baqou­ba yes­ter­day, Iraqi forces arrest­ed a sus­pect­ed al-Qai­da in Iraq mem­ber believed to be respon­si­ble for road­side-bomb attacks, as well as eight sus­pect­ed asso­ciates, dur­ing com­bined oper­a­tions with U.S. advi­sors.
