General Dynamics Opens Cyber Intel Facility Near Ft. Meade

Cyber and Intel­li­gence Solu­tions Cen­ter in Annapo­lis Junc­tion, Md., to house experts who design advanced capa­bil­i­ties in cyber threat detec­tion and mit­i­ga­tion.

ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md. – Gen­er­al Dynam­ics (NYSE: GD) opened its new Cyber and Intel­li­gence Solu­tions Cen­ter in Annapo­lis Junc­tion today. The 28,000 square foot facil­i­ty hous­es ample space for tech­ni­cal demon­stra­tions and col­lab­o­ra­tive meet­ings and brings togeth­er the full breadth of Gen­er­al Dynam­ics’ cyber capa­bil­i­ties. The new facil­i­ty also fea­tures an EDGE® Inno­va­tion Cen­ter, part of a Gen­er­al Dynam­ics-spon­sored world­wide inno­va­tion net­work lever­ag­ing indus­try invest­ments in tech­nol­o­gy to rapid­ly fill gaps in capability. 

Built to serve the unique needs of the U.S. Depart­ment of Defense and the intel­li­gence com­mu­ni­ty, the Cyber and Intel­li­gence Solu­tions Cen­ter pro­vides a high­ly secure and flex­i­ble envi­ron­ment for cus­tomers at the Ft. Meade-based Nation­al Secu­ri­ty Agency and U.S. Cyber Com­mand as well as fed­er­al and civil­ian indus­try part­ners focused on pro­tect­ing the nation’s intel­li­gence and thwart­ing threats in cyberspace. 

“Defend­ing the nation’s net­works requires new lev­els of close col­lab­o­ra­tion between gov­ern­ment net­work oper­a­tors and indus­try to deliv­er advanced, inte­grat­ed cyber-defense solu­tions,” said Bill Ross, vice pres­i­dent of Fed­er­al Sys­tems and Cyber Solu­tions for Gen­er­al Dynam­ics C4 Sys­tems. “The Cyber and Intel­li­gence Solu­tions Cen­ter brings togeth­er gov­ern­ment end-users, trust­ed part­ners and Gen­er­al Dynam­ics’ glob­al net­work of indus­try experts to deliv­er inno­v­a­tive respons­es to evolv­ing cyber threats.” 

Gen­er­al Dynam­ics’ cyber offer­ings pro­vide dynam­ic net­work defense and short­en the time between threat detec­tion and mit­i­ga­tion. This is achieved with cyber capa­bil­i­ties such as: 

  • Iden­ti­ty and access management
  • Secure mobility
  • Cyber threat training
  • Secure voice and data products

The cen­ter will employ up to 100 cyber pro­fes­sion­als. This is in addi­tion to the 8,000 Gen­er­al Dynam­ics work­ers already employed in Mary­land and the nation­al cap­i­tal region.
