EU — Statement on the bomb attack in Bogota

State­ment by the spokesper­son of HR Cather­ine Ash­ton on the bomb attack in Bogo­ta
The spokesper­son of High Rep­re­sen­ta­tive of the Union for For­eign Affairs and Secu­ri­ty Policy/Vice Pres­i­dent of the Com­mis­sion Cather­ine Ash­ton issued the fol­low­ing state­ment today :

” The High Rep­re­sen­ta­tive con­demns in the strongest terms the bomb attack that has tak­en place yes­ter­day morn­ing in Bogo­ta, injur­ing 11 peo­ple and caus­ing seri­ous dam­ages to the build­ings of Bogota’s finan­cial district.

This is the first ter­ror­ist attack of this scale in Bogo­ta in four years and in takes place only a few days after the tak­ing office of the new Pres­i­dent of Colom­bia, Juan Manuel Santos.

The High Rep­re­sen­ta­tive reit­er­ates her sup­port and sol­i­dar­i­ty to the peo­ple and the gov­ern­ment of Colom­bia in their fight against terrorism. ”
