5th Annual ISDEF International Defence and Security Expo

The exhi­bi­tion will dis­play the lat­est inno­va­tions from the Defence and HLS Mar­ket. From both Israel and abroad.

ISDEF – (Israel Defence) Exhi­bi­tion will be held this year on Octo­ber 31st through Novem­ber 2nd at the Israel Trade Fairs and Con­ven­tion Cen­tre in Tel Aviv. This is the fifth con­sec­u­tive year for the grow­ing exhi­bi­tion, which has expand­ed to now include HLS. It is con­sid­ered to be the lead­ing defence exhi­bi­tion in Israel and the sur­round­ing region, and well rec­og­nized as such around the world. The exhi­bi­tion high­lights a vari­ety of prod­ucts, tech­no­log­i­cal devel­op­ments and inno­va­tions from Israel and abroad.

9/11 brought about a new kind of real­i­ty to the inter­na­tion­al are­na. Ter­ror­ism and asym­met­ri­cal war­fare have become a glob­al phe­nom­e­na mak­ing it imper­a­tive for inter­na­tion­al coop­er­a­tion. The chal­lenges that were once region­al­ly based are no longer as such, and the neces­si­ty for a plat­form for the inter­na­tion­al defense and secu­ri­ty indus­tries and deci­sion mak­ers is one of great impor­tance. Not only does it present solu­tions, but it cre­at­ed a forum for bilat­er­al and mul­ti­lat­er­al collaborations. 

The exhi­bi­tion brings togeth­er key indus­try play­ers from var­i­ous sec­tors. From Police, Mil­i­tary Offi­cials, and the Intel­li­gence Com­mu­ni­ty, to man­u­fac­tur­ers, devel­op­ers and engi­neers, the envi­ron­ment is undoubt­ed­ly a prime oppor­tu­ni­ty for view­ing the lat­est tech­no­log­i­cal inno­va­tions and enhanc­ing busi­ness cooperation. 

ISDEF has grown annu­al­ly by more than 30%. 90 com­pa­nies exhib­it­ed last year, and among those, 45% of them were from over­seas. Among the 5,000 vis­i­tors, 1,500 came from abroad, rep­re­sent­ing 45 coun­tries. This year, the num­ber of vis­i­tors is expect­ed to near­ly double. 

Fur­ther­more, the grow­ing num­ber of offi­cial defense del­e­ga­tions par­tic­i­pat­ing, empha­sizes the impor­tance that gov­ern­ments and orga­ni­za­tions put on the Expo. Includ­ed among the del­e­ga­tions expect­ed at ISDEF are; High Lev­el Offi­cial del­e­ga­tions from the PLA of Chi­na, a del­e­ga­tion from the-War Plans and Inter­na­tion­al Affairs Branch from the Philip­pine Army, a high rank­ing del­e­ga­tion from the (SPF) Sin­ga­pore Police Force, and many oth­ers from var­i­ous coun­tries such as; Peru, Brazil, S. Korea, U.S.A. France, Nige­ria, India and Fin­land. The del­e­gates will meet with exhibitors, view first hand some of the lat­est Israeli inno­va­tions devel­oped, and to exam­ine the oppor­tu­ni­ties for inter­na­tion­al cooperation. 

Tomer Avnon, Pres­i­dent of the Israel Defence Exhi­bi­tion says that this year’s exhib­it will host high rank­ing Israeli offi­cials such as the Min­is­ter of Home Front Defence, Major Gen­er­al (ret.) Matan Vil­nai, The Deputy Direc­tor of Sibat, Major Gen­er­al of Home Front Com­mand Eyal Eisen­berg, The Direc­tor Gen­er­al of MADA, Israels Nation­al Emer­gency Service.
