Erst bei näherem Hinsehen erkennt der Laie diverse Unterschiede. Anstelle der beiden Triebwerke des „Alphi“ findet sich nur ein Triebwerk, die Tragflächen scheinen weniger gepfeilt und das Leitwerk scheint etwas steiler zu sein als beim deutsch-französischen Trainer und Erdkampfflugzeug. Despite insufficient resources, the Navy had, by the early 1990s, acquired capabilities that would be considered ‘blue water’. Two aircraft carriers, 19 submarines and equal number of guided missile destroyers / frigates supported by missile patrol vessels and corvettes and a couple of fleet tankers comprised a well balanced fleet capable of being deployed in a wide spectrum of contingencies. Such a hypothesis, they advocated, provided a context to formulate and enable a strategic policy to deter war and, should the need arise, to wage that war. 166 people were killed in the twin attacks on the Taj Mahal Hotel and the Trident Oberoi Mumbai. There were twin bombings in Jakarta Hotels namely Ritz Carlton and Marriott. Suicide bombers killed 8 persons and maimed 50. The 26/11 terrorist attack on the two Mumbai Hotels - The Taj and The Oberoi Trident was majorly responsible for exposing the vulnerability of the hospitality industry to such malicious man-made attacks. But has the incident changed the perception of the hospitality sector regarding their vulnerability to such attacks and security incidents? The German Navy – The Way Forward?
One of the largest fleets in NATO, the
German Navy appears to have escaped most of the recent cuts imposed by
the government’s austerity plan, since construction of the new vessels
and upgrades for existing platforms seems to continue. However, the
planned reduction of 60 percent in its defense budget could have
negative effect in the future, if the government decides to press on
with the cuts. To continue operating under these restricted budgetary
constraints the Navy may have to reduce its mission sets, whilst
assuming a reduced ‘asymmetric’ role focused on counter-piracy,
peacemaking and peacekeeping operations, rather than full scale, high
